Re: Ultimate and engine 1 consistently fail to make thumbnails
I tried it first from Videonizer, and when that didn't work I tried again directly from VTM and when that failed, I ran VTM to a new folder and then merged the new and old folders. I'm using Videonizer 18.0.0.0 and VTM 20.0.0.0

Re: Ultimate and engine 1 consistently fail to make thumbnails
Yes, I'm talking about using VTM to create thumbnails for a videonizer database comprising ~480,000 entries (about 160,000 movies, each with 1 jpg, 1 vtx, 1 webp). Does this make sense now? Thanks.

Re: Ultimate and engine 1 consistently fail to make thumbnails
Hi, Thanks for offering to analyse the problem, but I think I've identified the issue which is having a very large thumbnail file holding all jpg, vtx and webp files. This was too large to send as an attachment for you to investigate, as there are over 480,000 entries in this file and I'm guessing t...

Ultimate and engine 1 consistently fail to make thumbnails
On every new file, I'm now getting this pattern in the log file for every video file:- [INFO] [08:27:45] [ULTIMATE] File 1: Solden1.mp4 [SWAP] [08:27:47] [ENGINE 1] .... Ultimate engine failed , making an attempt to use Secondary engine [DEBUG] [08:27:47] [ENGINE 1] .... Engine 1: Can't render the f...

[FEATURE REQUEST]: Pick up known tags from folder names
Hi, I like the "pick up known tags, artists & sites" feature in DB tools, and wondered if this could be enhanced to enable tags to be assigned according to folder names as well as file names? So if a video file name contains the words "Mont Blanc" is in the database and the file is within folder con...

Re: Eliminate need to restart by making timeout universal
HI, I use the ultimate engine as primary and crystal as secondary. Now that I've upgraded to "magic" multi-core processing, performance is much improved and I don't think I've encountered any need to restart since, so thanks for that massive improvement! The only issue I still have is that "add fold...

Feature request: auto tag by folder name as well as file name
Hi, I like the "pick up known tags, artists & sites" feature in DB tools, and wondered if this could be enhanced to enable tags to be assigned according to folder names as well as file names? All my picture files are assigned to folders such as "England", "France", which are the same as tags, but ha...

Eliminate need to restart by making timeout universal
When scanning large folders (say, 10-20,000 movies) the program often stops and I need to restart from recovery point. Presumably the program stops because of some codec issue and just gets in a loop. Can the "timeout" feature be escalated so that regardless of what loops or problems the program hit...

Duplicate checker on rescan for videos gives spurious results
Hi, I've found that when checking for duplicates, the results aren't very accurate. Please can you clarify what criteria are used to identify a duplicate? I've noticed that potential duplicates are indicated when movie durations are the same, but when I play the movie I see that the contents are tot...
