New user and saw a blank frame detection feature mentioned on forums, but could not find in settings where this can be enabled.

It is called "Try substituting for any color frames".

You can find it in Options (F2) -> Advanced Timeline Control.
At the bottom of the window.

I know, need to rename it to "blank frames"
