On every new file, I'm now getting this pattern in the log file for every video file:-
[INFO] [08:27:45] [ULTIMATE] File 1: Solden1.mp4
[SWAP] [08:27:47] [ENGINE 1] .... Ultimate engine failed , making an attempt to use Secondary engine
[DEBUG] [08:27:47] [ENGINE 1] .... Engine 1: Can't render the file

These are all mp4 videos which play fine, so the files themselves are not corrupt in any way. How can I discover why VTM fails to make thumbnails for all these 60 videos?
Thanks

Can I have a sample to check (in private messages)?

Hi, Thanks for offering to analyse the problem, but I think I've identified the issue which is having a very large thumbnail file holding all jpg, vtx and webp files. This was too large to send as an attachment for you to investigate, as there are over 480,000 entries in this file and I'm guessing that the program times out when trying to add a new entry. To overcome this issue, I have created all new jpg, vtx and webp entries in a new file, and then merge this into the "master" thumbnail file. Does this make sense?
Thanks

480,000 entries?
Were you trying to create a single picture in VTM using the "Combine all files into one picture" feature?
Or you are talking about Videonizer?

Yes, I'm talking about using VTM to create thumbnails for a videonizer database comprising ~480,000 entries (about 160,000 movies, each with 1 jpg, 1 vtx, 1 webp). Does this make sense now? Thanks.

So you run the generation from Videonizer?
Did you try to process same files directly from VTM?

Which versions of the apps are you using?

I tried it first from Videonizer, and when that didn't work I tried again directly from VTM and when that failed, I ran VTM to a new folder and then merged the new and old folders. I'm using Videonizer 18.0.0.0 and VTM 20.0.0.0

In other words, VTM doesn't work when the output is redirected to a folder with ~480,000 files already in it, right?

That seems to be the case, yes.

Could you please try to set the "Prevent collisions" checkbox OFF in the Environment window?

Another question is about your volume - is it FAT32 or NTFS?
