I made a request before, and waited for the answer like 3 weeks but nothing happened. I guess maybe, with my limited English skill, I didn't elaborate enough. So, I'll try to explain what I need in better detail.

Like most people out there, I have a monitor which has 16:9 aspect ratio. And I always try to create thumbnails images for my video collections to also have 16:9 ratio - so the output images can fit to my screen. I find them look the most pleasing, and consistent.

The simplistic and easiest way to do this is, of course, to set the same numbers for X/Y tiles. (3x3, 4x4, 5x5, so on...) Most video files of these days have 16:9 ratio, so this works perfectly for many of the cases.

But there are also many videos with different aspect ratios. And it's not realistically possible to create perfect 16:9 output images with them. By setting a certain numbers of X/Y tiles, you might be able to create images with aspect ratio of... somewhat close to 16:9. (like 8 in row and 6 in column for 2.39:1 videos) But it's only close, not perfect, and it doesn't solve other miscellaneous issues.

So what I want is - VTM to add black bars where they're needed to create perfect (16:9, or whatever the value the user set to) images. Like this screencap from original blu-ray disc. (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Mr-Deeds- ... 22/#Review) You'll probably know this is how most, if not all, of original blu-ray videos look like. They are 1920x1080 pixels images with 16:9 ratios but during ripping process these black bars are often removed, and in the end, you get videos with many different aspect ratios. 1.33:1, 1.78:1, 1.85:1, 2.35:1, 2.39:1, and more. So basically, I want VTM to reverse this process and create output images like this (http://i63.fastpic.ru/big/2014/0925/82/ ... 23ae82.jpg), instead of this (http://i.imgur.com/HdrZfPi.jpg).

Thank you for reading. Took me nearly an hour to write this with my terrible English. :D

Hello.

Thank you for your request. I like it, and it is possible to implement it.
I will keep it in my mind.

Currently I am focused on Videonizer project, I am working for several months on a big release.
All VTM requests will be reviewed after that release.
Thank you for understanding and your support, I am trying to do my best.

Any updates on this? I too would like perfect 16x9 aspect ratio thumbnail frames.
