The program frequently fails to thumbnail 90% of movies with no reason apparent in the log file. I've tried ultimate and crystal engines as well as the codec dependant ones. This happens for many different extension type movies (avi,MP4, M4v, MOV, flv) with no apparent distinction between those it DOES successfully thumbnail and those that fail. How can I discover why the majority fail when no reason is given in the log file?

It shouldn't fail like that; I suspect there might be a problem with disk access permissions or some blocking process on your end.
As for the logs, please keep in mind, if you use the Magic feature, it uses the Diag_magic.log which is located in
c:\Users\--->[YOUR_USER_NAME]<---]\AppData\Roaming\Video Thumbnails Maker\Logs\Diag_magic.log
Please check there for details.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I wasn't aware of the separate log file for Magic, but that didn't provide any further info either. However I did try moving the source file from NAS to local storage and all movies then got thumbnailed, so I guess there was a speed access issue trying to access movies on the NAS (not permissions as it managed to thumb 8 of 75). Anyway, all 83 movies now successfully thumbnailed. Thanks for your help. Maybe issue a warning about trying to thumbnail NAS drives?
