Hello all,

I have been using video thumnails maker for many years and never really had an issue.

Recently I have been encountering videos encoded with AV1, and I have found that I cannot get usable thumbnails with this codec: it outputs a plain grey screen (the UI adds a checkbox as if it succeeded). The videos play back fine on mine, and I can make thumbails manually with MPC, just not VTM (which of course is way easier and faster). I have tried every permutation of crystal, ultimate, engine one, and engine two with no success.

I am using a silver status copy of 15.2.0.0. I get the same issue when outputting jpg or vtx. I have tried installing the K-lite codec pack which didn't make things better or worse (and again, I could play AV1 videos just fine).

What can I do?

Whoops, please disregard this. When I updated to the most recent version (the first thing I tried), I somehow didn't uninstall the old one and had them both installed. I have actually uninstalled the old one and am using 27, and it works now. Sorry about the confusion.
